A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.
I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

New Defender's Study Bible Notes

101:2 perfect way. Although this psalm was written by David, its claim of perfect actions and a perfect heart (Psalm 101:2) could not really apply to him, whether written as he assumed Israel’s throne or after his great sin and subsequent repentance. As a divinely inspired writer, it is difficult to think of him speaking of himself in such a manner. Thus it seems this is actually a Messianic psalm, with the perfectly righteous Son of Man speaking through David concerning His future ministry on earth.

101:4 froward. See note on Job 5:13.

101:7 he that telleth lies. But the fearful, and unbelieving,...and all liars” (Revelation 21:8), are to be “cut off...from the city of the LORD” (Psalm 101:8). “For without are...idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie” (Revelation 22:15).

Psalm 102 (title) Prayer of the afflicted. The title affixed to this psalm indicates it to be the prayer of the “afflicted one.” Since it is applied to Christ in Hebrews, it is essentially a Messianic psalm, and the “afflicted one” is our suffering Savior, who is also called “the afflicted” in the Messianic Psalm 22 (verse 24).
